Sep 2021 • Family This was our offset time visiting Grant Park and we were impressed. The landscaping is beautiful, the grounds are very well designed and maintained. The setting next to the lake and near downtown is very accessible. It's a great greenspace in the metropolis. May 2021 This is a huge open up infinite on the North Side of boondocks, a big city park where there are a lot of special events, plus just plain sports and good times. Well used by the locals. We came here to see the Buckingham Fountain, the fountain that is featured in the opening sequence of the sitcom, Married with Children, a classic. This park is also right by Lake Michigan. Jul 2021 • Family Surprisingly few people at this park, given the crowds at millennium Park just adjacent-door. Well-maintained grounds, a few places to catch a bite, and a fabled fountain, which is a must see in my opinion. Lots of benches to relax Written July 25, 2021 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor fellow member and non of TripAdvisor LLC. Jul 2021 • Couples The Buckingham fountain is worth a visit to the park. The park is across the street from Lake Michigan where there are bike and walking paths. The expanse around the fountain is huge but defective in benches and shaded areas. At that place are some benches and some trees but not plenty for a city this size. Only FYI. At the time we were there, they were setting up for the Lallapalooza festival, so several areas of the park were airtight off. At that place'south multiple things to see and I felt safe going on a morn walk alone. There's plenty of people out with their dogs, folks walking/jogging, etc. It's tranquility and a fair amount of shade merely prepare for sections where yous are on walkways that aren't shaded and information technology tin get quite hot in the summer. Feb 2020 This is a huge park on the Lake and a place where a lot of history has happened. Now it is but loved by the residents who use information technology a lot in practiced weather. Sep 2020 People are looking for things to do during the Coronavirus pandemic. Some friends claim they are bored. They have nothing to practise. Are they kidding? For Chicagoans, it is a wonderful opportunity to savour all of the attractions that the city has to offer. When was the concluding time y'all visited Grant Park? There is so much to do, you can't encounter information technology all in 1 or fifty-fifty two days. Information technology's similar taking a three-day holiday at home. Bordered past Randolph Street on the north, Roosevelt Road on the south, Michigan Avenue on the westward and Lake Michigan on the east, the 319-acre urban park is popularly referred to as "Chicago'southward front yard." Founded in 1844, it has grown in size by extending into the lake with debris from the Slap-up Chicago Fire in 1871 and landfill. Originally known as Lake Park, information technology was renamed in 1901 to laurels Ulysses S. Grant. Among the features are Millennium Park, Maggie Daley Park, Art Found of Chicago, Buckingham Fountain, Petrillo Music Shell, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, Crown Fountain, Cloud Gate (aka The Bean), Lurie Garden, Congress Plaza, Courtroom of the Presidents, Chicago Lakefront Trail, Hutchinson Field, Monroe Harbor, Skate Plaza, even an 18,000-square-human foot, off-leash dog park. In addition, there are 16 softball/baseball fields and 12 tennis courts. Don't forget the public art, magnificent sculptures such as the Abraham Lincoln Monument, the big equestrian statue of Civil War general and Illinois-built-in John A. Logan and the Agora, a series of 106 headless, armless sculptures designed by Shine artist Magdalena Abakanowicz. Grant Park was added to the National Annals of Historic Places in 1993.
